CIPS holds exams in international centres three times a year, May, July and November.  For each of our qualifications you are required to complete five units. You will be required to join CIPS as a Student Member before you can enter for an exam. 

CIPS in Zimbabwe

The British Council in Zimbabwe administers exams on behalf of CIPS.  Please contact us for further details.

Apply for CIPS membership


CIPS requires you to be a member prior to registering for any exams. Membership registration is open throughout the year. To apply as a new member, download and complete the membership application form. When you have completed your registration, you will receive login details from CIPS.


To renew your membership, download and complete the renewal application form  and bring it to British Council, 16 Cork Road, Belgravia, Harare or British Council, 2nd Floor, ZIMDEF House, 102 Fort Street, Bulawayo with a copy of your proof of payment. You can also keep your details up-to-date via your My CIPS.

Register for an exam

When you have registered with CIPS, they will send you  your membership number and login details.

Candidates can register for May, July or November exams by completing the CIPS exams enrolment form and submitting it to our British Council office.

How to make payments for membership and exams

  1. You will need a reference number before making your payment. Contact the British Council for your unique reference number. Alternatively, you can quote your membership number (if you are a continuing student) or your National ID / Passport number as the reference number on your deposit slip
  2. Please make your registration payment to:
  • Bank: Stanbic Bank
  • Branch: Minerva
  • Account number: 9140000882703
  • Account name: British Council

We accept payments into our bank account from the following:

  • Direct deposit (using bank deposit slip) into the above named British Council bank account. British Council deposit slips are provided at Stanbic Bank branches countrywide

3. To make the above payments you must quote your registration British Council assigned Reference Number / ID number in all reference fields that are available.

4. For candidates making payments via bank deposit, it is prudent to plan for an extra day or two for processing payments.

5. Failure to quote a reference number may delay your application process.

What to bring to your exam

Please bring the following with you to your exam session:

  • identification such as a valid International Passport or National ID Card
  • Exam enrolment confirmation 
  • pens and pencils in a clear plastic bag
  • basic calculator

No electronic devices, e.g. mobile phones, are allowed to be taken into the exams.

Where you can sit for your exam

Contact British Council two weeks before the exam date so we can advise you of the venue
